His coaching methods became a topic of public discussion in 2021 when the documentary Raise the Bar premiered worldwide. The movie follows a girls' team that, with Brynjar's guidance, fights for new standards and better opportunities within women's basketball.

Raise the Bar
In 2015, Brynjar Karl started coaching his daughter's basketball team, despite having vowed to never coach basketball again. The team's stated goal was to increase the value of women's basketball.

6 years later, they found themselves watching their own story unfold on the big screen when Raise the Bar premiered around the world.

Their inspiring, yet controversial story provides real-life leadership lessons and examples of what it takes
to go against the grain.

The Rise of Athena
In the spring of 2019, Coach Brynjar Karl and the girls founded Athena Sports Club, and thereby started the next chapter in the girls' story.

At Athena, Brynjar and his team of coaches provide more kids with the opportunity to put their character development and leadership training at forefront of their athletic activities. Furthermore, Brynjar runs an ambitious, hands-on coaching academy at Athena, empowering the next generation of athletic coaches.

As a young basketball coach, Brynjar was constantly looking for ways to improve every aspect of his coaching philosophy. That journey of constant improvement eventually led him to start his first company, Sideline Sports, and creating a powerful tool that now helps coaches all over the world to organize and analyze their work.

As the founder of Sideline Sports Brynjar has worked as an advisor for coaches and management in some of the world's biggest clubs, in leagues such as the NFL, NBA and English Premier League.
